Last year's terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir will complete one year on April 22. Then in this attack the terrorists publicly killed 26 people. Manish Ranjan, resident of Rohtas district of Bihar, was also killed in this attack. Manish Ranjan was an Intelligence Bureau officer. After his death, the picture of him and his wife went viral across the country. It is being told that even after a year of the attack, the family members have not been able to recover from this shock. Every day, every moment of his life has passed like a burden.

Originally a resident of Aruhi village in Rohtas district of Bihar, Manish Ranjan's ancestral house is currently inhabited by his aunt and uncle. When Manish's uncle Alok Kumar was asked about his well being, his throat choked. No sound was coming out. Manish's aunt says, not a single moment has passed in the last one year when she has not remembered Manish. Whenever Manish is remembered, the entire family becomes inconsolable. Tears do not stop from the eyes. It seems that Manish is always around him. Actually, Manish Ranjan's uncle and aunt live in Aruhi village. She says, we are the only people living in the village. But Manish's family lives in Jhalda, West Bengal. Even though Manish lived in Jhalda, he always remained in touch with us.

Who knows who caught my eye

Manish's aunt tells that Manish was a worthy son. No one is able to forget his memory. Only we can understand how much pain we all are in. Relatives talk about everything but only Manish is mentioned in those talks. The terrorists took his life without any fault of his. Now only his memories remain. Such a memory, whenever it comes, brings up old wounds.

She says, Manish had three brothers. We don't have any children. Manish and his brothers were everything for us. Everyone in this world is our own, but only those who have seen their children growing up can understand the pain of their loved ones' departure. Manish was the eldest boy. Always used to call. He kept asking, how are you guys? People used to prepare for jobs but Manish was so smart that jobs ran after him. Manish had left six government jobs. This was his seventh job in IB. From this we can guess how sharp his mind was.

parents keep crying

Manish's aunt says, Manish had gone for a walk with his family but the terrorists destroyed his family while they were playing. If there was an age, we would have calmed down by understanding the heart a little. But at the age when Manish had to take his family with him, terrorists snatched him away from us. Both Manish's father and uncle have undergone bypass surgery. In the last one year, not a single day has passed for Manish's father when his eyes have not become moist. Tears always keep falling from the eyes. I don't know which birth sin we all are suffering from? We are just getting older now.

The wedding took place in Prayagraj

Manish's aunt says, his marriage took place in Prayagraj. Daughter-in-law is also educated. We also talk to his in-laws. There is also a conversation with the daughter-in-law. The daughter-in-law keeps coming, but till now she has not been able to come out of the shock of that incident. She faints while talking. In the last one year, he has consumed only that much food with which he can survive. Many promises were made by the government then but till now no concrete steps have been taken.

It's been a year, daughter-in-law hasn't got a job

Manish's aunt says that it was said that the daughter-in-law will get a job but it will take a year. Till now the process is still going on. Daughter-in-law Jaya keeps coming and going. If we are in so much pain, it is not difficult to imagine what pain our daughter-in-law will be in. She also says that in the last one year no one from the state government or from any leader or official has taken care of us. No one has come to our door to inquire about our well-being.
