A campmate from I'm A Celebrity All Star Series has reportedly left the show just before the final due to medical conditions. Coronation Street star Beverley Callard, who is known as playing Liz McDonald in the ITV soap, will leave the South African jungle after tonight's episode.
In the scenes recorded in last September, she told her fellow campmates after waking up feeling ill and doctors later advised her to leave camp. In February, she publicly revealed her heartbreaking cancer diagnosis and has since been keeping her fans updated on her breast cancer journey. Despite the medical condition, the 69-year-old plans to attend the live final of I'm A Celebrity this Friday.
Since the diagnosis, Beverley undergone an operation to remove three lymph nodes as a precaution to sure the cancer does not spread. Last week, she shared on Instagram the positive feedback from the doctors: "They're pleased with how the surgery went. And they also took three lymph nodes and this is how she explained it to me.
"The lymph nodes are like a staircase and if cancer is in the lymph nodes, it sort of tends to climb up the stairs. That's oversimplifying it, but just to help explain. And they took three, and the cancer is in the first lymph node. It's not in two and three. So it is there, but it's only small."
The actress was told to 'rest for a few days' as she further explained: "So what happens now is, they send that to America. I've no idea why they send it to America, but they do, apparently, that's normal. They send it to America to see how aggressive the cancer is and then I will know about that in approximately two weeks. So it's waiting again, but never mind. That's just the way it is. If it's aggressive, then I'll have to undergo chemo first and then after that, radiotherapy."
She also told fans that she is 'hopeful' to go to I'm A Celebrity final on Friday. "I've got to get myself well for that," she added.
Fans sent well wishes and left comments on her video, with one saying: "Glad you're resting, stay positive. You're a strong lady. This time last year I was going through the same."
Another wrote: "Rest is definitely recovery. Sending lots of love." And a third added: "Rooting for you Bev! Queen of the Jungle on Friday! Sending you all our love."
