Passing Criteria and Compartment Exams
To pass in CBSE, a student is required to secure a minimum of 33% marks in each subject. If a student fails to pass in a single subject, they are granted a ‘Compartment.’ This implies that you are permitted to retake the examination for that specific subject. Compartment exams are typically conducted in July. If you successfully pass this exam, you will be deemed to have passed the academic year.
