A new debate has erupted regarding women’s reservation in the politics of Himachal Pradesh. In fact, BJP state president Rajeev Bindal made a scathing attack on Congress and said that the party did not do justice to women’s rights. At the same time, he alleges that when the opportunity came to give more participation to women in politics in the country, Congress did not support it. In fact, in the press conference, Rajiv Bindal said that the Central Government had taken a big step to give political power to women.

According to him, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had tried to push forward the Women’s Reservation Act by calling a special Parliament session. But Bindal alleges that Congress and its allies have tried to weaken this initiative. He said that Congress’s attitude on this issue was not in the interest of women.

BJP’s allegation on women’s reservation bill

In fact, BJP leaders say that Nari Shakti Vandan Abhiyan opens the way for giving 33 percent reservation to women in Parliament and Assemblies. He also claimed that this step was taken to give direct participation in political decisions to half the country’s population. Rajiv Bindal alleged that Congress kept the issue of women’s reservation pending for many decades. According to him, when the opportunity came to implement it, the party did not take a clear stand on it. He said that if women are to be strengthened in politics then it is necessary to implement such laws soon.

‘Jan Akrosh Padyatra’ in Shimla on 23rd April

BJP says that women’s reservation is not just a political decision but also a step for social change. This can increase the number of women from Panchayat to Parliament and the voice of women will be stronger in the policy making process. In fact, Rajeev Bindal told that ‘Jan Akrosh Padyatra’ will be taken out in Shimla on April 23 on the issue of women’s rights and democratic system. BJP claims that a large number of women will participate in this padyatra and will register protest against the policies of the Congress government.

Along with this, in the press conference, he has also accused the Himachal government of postponing the Panchayat and Municipal body elections. In fact, Bindal says that if local body elections are not held on time, it weakens the democratic system. He also claimed that the Election Commission had to write a letter to the Governor regarding the election process, which shows the seriousness of the dispute.
