Recent reports have reignited discussions about Jisoo, a member of Blackpink, due to her brother, Kim Jung-Hoon, being embroiled in various controversies and legal issues. Speculation arose when his name appeared in the credits of her Netflix series Monthly Boyfriend. Journalist Lee Jin Ho clarified that their professional collaboration had concluded prior to the controversies, emphasizing that Jisoo had distanced herself from her brother even before the public fallout. His agency, BLISSOO Entertainment, confirmed that it operates independently and denied any ongoing familial influence over professional matters.
According to Lee Jin Ho, Jisoo and her family severed ties with Kim Jung-Hoon before the allegations surfaced. Despite claims that he was involved until the show's release in March 2026, this is misleading. The filming occurred between October 2024 and May 2025, during which he provided support as a brother and briefly acted as a representative. However, following the scandal, he lost not only Jisoo's trust but that of the entire family, leading to his exclusion from any of her professional endeavors. Lee also refuted claims that Kim held an official role in Jisoo's company.
Lee explained that Kim's name was included in the credits due to materials gathered during filming, which were presented as they were. Upon discovering his name in the credits on March 6, 2026, Jisoo was reportedly shocked and upset, leading her to demand its removal. The editing process to remove his name was costly, exceeding 10 million Korean won (around US$6,750), but Jisoo insisted on covering the expenses herself, indicating her desire to dissociate from him prior to the harassment allegations.
