Karachi Kings have stunned reigning champions Lahore Qalandars in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 match on April 23, Thursday at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. By winning their game, not only have the Karachi Kings kept themselves alive alongside the Quetta Gladiators but also sent through the Multan Sultans to the playoffs.
Fakhar Zaman continued his excellent run with the bat at the top, hitting a 41-ball 61, while Abdullah Shafique also mustered a 36-ball 62. While the likes of Sikandar Raza, Daniel Sams and Shaheen Shah Afridi crafted crucial cameos, they seemed to have lost some steam towards the death. From 148/2 after 15.2 overs, the Qalandars managed only 199/6 when they seemed to be hoping for more. Karachi Kings skipper David Warner put his hand up with a measured 63 at the top but it all came down to 34 off the final three overs. Khushdil Shah stunned opposition captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, belting him for 23 runs in the 18th over and finished off the game in the next with consecutive sixes off Haris Rauf’s bowling to stay unbeaten on 44.
With only two more playoff spots up for grabs, four teams in Hyderabad Kingsmen, Islamabad United, Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars are vying for it.
