Summer is nearly here, and the holiday season is looming. If you have a dog at home, trying to find somewhere the whole family can enjoy can be tricky.
Taking your dog overseas can be tricky, but with so many gorgeous places in the UK to explore, you don't have to go abroad to enjoy a relaxing holiday with your beloved pet. Capital on Tap has analysed UK towns to find the best places for a dog-friendly getaway by evaluating green space, dog friendly venues and access to pet shops for those last minute supplies. Coming in first place is Manchester with 34.7% green space and 128 pet shops.
The city has a strong dog-friendly culture with plenty of pet-friendly venues like Rudy's and Seven Bro7hers. Areas like Ancoats and the Northern Quarter are packed with pet-friendly venues, making it easy to plan a great day out.
In second place is Brighton and Hove, with the highest proportion of dog-friendly venues and 27.3% green space, making it one of the most accommodating coastal destinations for dog owners.
The beaches are also great for a summer dog walk, although restrictions are in place between May 1 and September 30.
During these times you can only have dogs on designated areas of the seafront - but it still makes for a great option for dog-lovers.
Rounding out the list in third place is Swansea. Standing out with the most green space at 46.5%, there's plenty of places for a lovely dog walk.
From the coastal paths of the Gower Peninsula to relaxed strolls through Singleton Park and along the River Tawe, it's hard to choose where to go.
There's also plenty of dog friendly venues to enjoy a meal and a pint with your four legged friends.
