Kunci Jawaban Bahasa Inggris Kelas 11 SMA/MA Halaman 113:

The Mirror Story

Every child in the small city of Ende possessed a unique mirror except for Nadia. Little Rose, one of the children there, had a fragile, circular, pink mirror (1) decorated with rosebuds along its edges. When she looked in it, if she cried, the mirror cried and reflected her small tears. If she laughed, the mirror laughed with her. It reflected the joy of her smile and the brightness in her eyes.

Nadia didn't have a mirror with her. She was sad, but she couldn't see that she was crying. Timmy had a mirror (2) shaped like a football. His dad liked football and hoped his son would play one day. Timmy would make growling faces at his mirror and the mirror (3) roared back. Even though Timmy didn't want to play football, no one but his mirror knew about it. If Timmy were scared, he could look in his mirror, and the mirror (4) showed him what fear looks like. It felt good to know that the mirror understood it.

No one could understand Nadia. She was lonely.

Nala had a mirror as large as a refrigerator. She could see everything. When she (5) danced, so did the mirror. She would keep dancing and dancing. Nala was afraid of her mirror when it was too big. She wasn't sure whether she could fill it up, but she'd keep trying. Nadia didn't know how to dance or if she could.

Nono (6) carried a little mirror that fitted in his back pocket. Nono was a very introverted person who had some difficult experiences in his life, particularly when his mother died when he was only three. Nono would know that his mirror was nearby if he needed it. Sometimes, alone at night, he would converse with his mirror, and the reflection would respond. That was soothing.

Nadia wanted a mirror. Any mirror! A used one, a (7) cracked one, or one with rosebuds. When she questioned Rose where she got her mirror, she (8) replied that she always had it and didn't remember where it came from. Timmy assumed he got it from his father. Nala received hers from her wealthy grandparents, with whom she lived. Nono believed he (9) discovered his in his mother's room the day before her death.

So, where can Nadia find her mirror?

She was staring down at her feet, disappointed that she wouldn't find a mirror for her, when a new store (10) emerged.

On the front, it said, "Mirrors available here for free." Nadia went inside. The store's name was "Love." Nadia finally found her mirror.
