Mahant of Bageshwar Dham, Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri had recently given a statement in Nagpur regarding Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, after which a controversy has arisen. Many opposition leaders have given sharp reactions to his statement. He had said during an event that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was tired of the constant battles and went to Samarth Ramdas Swami. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj took off his crown and placed it at the feet of the saint and requested him to rule the state.
Not only this, he further increased the controversy by advising Hindus to have four children with this statement, in which he suggested that one child should be dedicated to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. The special thing is that when he made this statement in the program, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat were also present. After which many opposition leaders of Maharashtra have also attacked Dhirendra Shastri and BJP-RSS. However, on Sunday, Dhirendra Shastri came in front of the media and responded to his statement.
On his statement given regarding Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Dhirendra Shastri himself says that I had the privilege of participating in the Bhoomi Pujan of Bharat Durga Mata Temple, a program of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on Friday. There I had given a statement regarding Shivaji Maharaj. Due to which some people have presented my point differently on social media on Saturday. After seeing and hearing which I felt very sorry.
Dhirendra Shastri said that if every Sanatani in this country today is committed to Hindutva, then the biggest credit for it goes to Chhatrapati Veer Shivaji Maharaj. We also believe in Shivaji Maharaj and have faith in him. He said that if we fight among ourselves then others will get a chance. If anyone has been hurt by the statements given in the program, we sincerely apologize. We also request that our views should not be misrepresented. Dhirendra Shastri has also responded to his statement “Have four children, but give one to RSS”. He said that if you say that you do not have any children, then I answer that in the future I will also become a ‘householder’ and will contribute as much to increasing the population of Hindus as God wants. If you have a fourth child, give one to RSS, the purpose behind this is to make him a nationalist. Whether you give him to RSS, the country’s army, or make him a collector, teacher, but keep his thinking according to RSS. So that wherever he lives, the flag of Hindutva keeps flying.
