The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting a search operation at 11 locations of former Punjab Police DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, arrested in a bribery case. This action started on Monday (April 26) morning. Searches are being conducted at 11 locations of Bhullar located in Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Patiala, Nabha and Jalandhar. These places are linked to accused Bhullar and his associates.
DIG Bhullar was arrested last year in a bribery case worth Rs 8 lakh. After which more than Rs 7 crore in cash was found in the raids conducted at their locations. After this he came into limelight.
Today this investigation of ED is based on the case registered by CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation). The allegation in this case is that Bhullar had demanded illegal payment through a middleman to solve a criminal case. Along with this, there are also allegations of his having assets disproportionate to his known income. Officials said the aim of the raid is to trace the sources of money earned from alleged crime, identify benami properties and collect evidence related to money laundering.

ED is conducting searches at 11 places (Chandigarh-2, Ludhiana-5, Patiala-2, Nabha-1 and Jalandhar-1) in the case related to former DIG Bhullar and others under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. According to the information, searches are being conducted at two locations of Bhullar and his close associates located in Chandigarh, five located in Ludhiana, two located in Patiala as well as one each in Nabha and Jalandhar.
Bhullar, who was then posted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Rupnagar Range, was arrested by the CBI in October 2025. A scrap dealer had alleged that a bribe was demanded from him through a middleman to settle the case. During searches at Bhullar's residence in Chandigarh last year, the CBI had recovered more than Rs 7.36 crore in cash, jewelery worth more than Rs 2.32 crore, 26 branded watches and documents of immovable property in the name of family members. At present, the ED investigation is ongoing and more revelations are expected in the coming days.
Bhullar was appointed DIG (Ropar Range) in November 2024. Ropar range includes Mohali, Rupnagar and Fatehgarh Sahib districts. The state government had suspended him after his arrest in the bribery case.
