The meeting of BRICS Deputy Foreign Ministers and Special Envoys held in New Delhi ended without any consensus. According to sources, during the meeting, differences came to light among the BRICS countries regarding the West Asia conflict. It is being told that the member countries had different stances regarding the ongoing war between America, Israel and Iran. For this reason a consensus could not be reached.
The BRICS meeting was held on 23-24 April 2026 in New Delhi. Due to different stances of the countries, no consensus could be reached in this meeting. After which the meeting ended. Earlier, India tried to make a common stand, but due to differences this was not possible. In fact, both Iran and UAE are part of the 11-member BRICS+ and it is natural that they have different stances on the ongoing war in West Asia. But what is shocking and shameful is that another reason for the absence of a joint statement was India's insistence on softening the language on Israel and Palestine.
It is being told that this stand of India was not accepted by the representatives of Russia, China, Brazil, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, UAE and Iran. According to sources, there has been no change in India's stand on the Palestine issue after the meeting of BRICS Deputy Foreign Ministers and Special Envoys. After the BRICS meeting on Friday, the Ministry of External Affairs said that the member countries expressed deep concern over the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and presented their views and assessments on the matter.
According to sources, there has been no change in India's stand on the Palestine issue. Therefore, the Speaker's statement was issued at the end of the discussion. It is noteworthy that at present the chairmanship of BRICS is with India. A conference of foreign ministers has been called on 14-15 June. After this, a conference of BRICS heads of state is to be held in September. Iran is also among the current 11 members of BRICS. He wants the US attack to be condemned from the BRICS platform, but the BRICS countries are divided on this issue.
It is believed that due to the UAE's stance on the West Asia conflict, the meeting ended without any collective statement. Efforts by all the other members to resolve the differences were not successful. On the Palestine issue, India had adopted a consensus stance with the Arab League in January this year itself. However, the people involved in BRICS are not unanimous regarding India's stand. In fact, India has always taken a clear stand regarding its support for the two-nation solution.
The BRICS countries believe that India is the only major country in the world which is showing such strong solidarity with the Israeli regime. While Israel continues the genocide in Gaza, heavily bombards southern Lebanon and brutally evicts and displaces millions of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. The Prime Minister of India and the Prime Minister of Israel are clearly soulmates. And now Israel has also become an important part of the vast and exploitative Modi empire.
