Kanye West, also known as Ye, has reportedly been banned and cancelled in several cities across Europe where he was previously scheduled to perform. However, one country continues to welcome the Grammy-winning artist Portugal.

Organizers have confirmed that there are currently no objections to West’s concert, which is set to take place at the Algarve Stadium on August 7.

Torcato Jorge, CEO of Raya Culture, emphasized that the event remains on track. Speaking to Euronews, he stated, “It’s a music event that’s going to happen. It would become an issue if the services identified a national threat to public order, which is not the case.”

Jorge further clarified that Portugal’s internal intelligence agency, SIS, has not identified the artist as a threat.

“The SIS did not identify the artist, or in this case the US citizen, as a national threat or a terrorist. There has to be a state internal security report saying that this citizen cannot enter the country,” he explained.

He added that decisions regarding entry ultimately lie with individual nations, noting that within the European Union, no country has officially issued a blanket veto on West’s entry.

Despite a previously cancelled concert at the last moment elsewhere in Europe, the latest update from organizers in Portugal has sparked cautious optimism among the rapper’s fanbase, as the show, for now, is still set to go ahead.
