A family-run signage company in Merseyside that's been in business for nearly 50 years has gone into administration. Signs by Morrell Ltd is based out of Tarran Industrial Estate in Moreton, Wirral, and describes itself as providing "bespoke signage design, manufacture, and installation for businesses across Wirral, Merseyside, Cheshire, Liverpool, Manchester, and surrounding areas".

"As a family-run sign maker, we deliver high-quality, durable signage solutions tailored to each client's brand, environment, and requirements," their website adds. The company provides an "end-to-end signage service, managing projects from concept to completion".

"This integrated approach ensures consistency, efficiency, and a single point of contact for your signage project", it says.

Services include sign design and signage consultancy, site surveys and project planning, bespoke sign manufacture, illuminated and LED signage, digital signage and display systems, vehicle graphics and fleet branding, as well as professional signage installation and maintenance.

The company, which trades as SBM, was incorporated back in 1978, some 48 years ago. However, a notice published on the Gazette this morning confirmed that it entered administration last Tuesday, April 21.

Jason Dean Greenhalgh and Dean Watson, both of BTG Begbies Traynor were appointed as joint-administrators. It's not clear what led to insolvency practitioners getting involved.

SBM's Google Business profile currently shows the business as being permanently closed.

Administration doesn't always mean that companies have collapsed.

In many instances, it functions as a legal firewall to arrange a quick "pre-pack" sale, whilst maintaining the everyday business of the company.
