Assembly elections are to be held in Uttar Pradesh next year in 2027, for which parties, leaders and workers etc. of the state have started laying the chessboard. The biggest challenge in this will be for BJP because it will not be easy for it to preserve its power and handle angry leaders. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government is constantly being accused of being anti-Brahmin, which the opposition parties are trying to capitalize on. There have been reports of Brahmin MLAs and leaders mobilizing and holding a meeting together, which is not ordinary.
In this series, another big leader of Uttar Pradesh is giving a statement against BJP, which can prove fatal for CM Yogi in the future. This leader is none other than the big Rajput leader of the state and seven-time MP Brijbhushan Sharan Singh. The politics of UP has heated up due to the recent statement of BJP MP from Kaiserganj, Braj Bhushan Singh.
In fact, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has attacked his own government and the current political situation from the stage in a program organized in Bhagalpur, Bihar. He said directly from the stage in a challenging tone that today he and his community have no existence left in the eyes of the government.
Brajbhushan Sharan Singh said from the stage amidst thousands of people, ‘If anyone feels that we have become a burden, then just say once that we are not needed. Be it 2027 or 2029 elections, we will prove our worth. During this time, he called upon the Rajput community to unite and advised them to introspect. Expressing his displeasure, he said that it is the result of our silence that we are not being given attention today.
The former BJP MP later also raised questions about the history and credit for making the Constitution. He said, ‘The Constitution was made not only by Baba Saheb but by the assembly of 242 members. Bihar had the biggest contribution in this which was forgotten. Meanwhile, while referring to independence, he taunted Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and said that the slogan ‘Sabarmati ke Sant’ pushed the sacrifices of great revolutionaries like Rani of Jhansi, Kunwar Singh and Birsa Munda behind the curtain.
He told the Rajput class that now the time for explaining has passed, now is the time to recognize their strength and acquire strength, intelligence and knowledge. Brajbhushan Sharan Singh may have given this statement from the land of Bihar but its meaning goes far. He is giving a message to UP from Bihar that ignoring him could prove costly for BJP.
Earlier, BJP MP from Unnao Sakshi Maharaj has also taken a rebellious tone against BJP. Recently, he made such statements regarding Lodhi community in Etah district, which were seen as pressure or indirect criticism on BJP. He said that ‘Governments are formed and broken at the behest of the Lodhi community.’ Meanwhile, he demanded that the Lodhi community should have a stake in not only the post of MLC, Rajya Sabha, Governor but also in the post of Chief Minister.
Apart from this, on December 23, 2025, more than three dozen Brahmin MLAs of BJP had held a meeting in Lucknow, the capital of UP. This meeting was held at the residence of Kushinagar BJP MLA Panchanand Pathak. It is said that about 40 Brahmin MLAs and Legislative Council members of BJP attended the meeting, mostly from Bundelkhand and Purvanchal. Not only this, Brahmin MLAs from other parties also came to participate in this meeting.
In this meeting of Brahmin MLAs, there was talk of increasing the unity of the society, along with this there was also discussion on giving a clear message of unity. In the meeting, the issue of targeting the Brahmin community by political parties, their leaders and the government for some time was raised. It is clear that these meetings of big leaders of upper castes in the BJP government can create problems in the coming elections.
