Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate the Ganga Expressway, which is included in the country’s longest expressway, in Mallawan, Hardoi on Wednesday, April 29. As soon as this expressway starts, the journey from Meerut to Prayagraj will become easier and faster than before, which will directly benefit millions of passengers.
After the inauguration of the Prime Minister, this expressway will be opened for the common people. With the opening of this high-speed road, not only will the travel time be reduced, but the journey will also become more comfortable. The special thing is that now the distance from Meerut to Prayagraj can be covered in just 6 to 7 hours, which used to take much longer time earlier.
How much toll will have to be paid?
Toll fee on Ganga Expressway has been decided on the basis of distance. Different rates have been set for different vehicles:
If a passenger travels by car from Meerut to Prayagraj, he may have to pay a toll of around ₹ 1,515. At the same time, this expense can be around ₹ 2,405 for small commercial vehicles and around ₹ 4,840 for heavy vehicles. According to UPEDA, these rates have been decided keeping in mind the maintenance and operation of the expressway, changes in which are also possible in future.
Toll payment will be done without stopping
‘Closed toll system’ has been implemented on this expressway, due to which passengers will not need to stop at toll plazas. Here are the modern techniques used:
Toll plaza and route information
A total of two main toll plazas have been built on this expressway, which are located in Meerut and Prayagraj. Apart from this, 14 to 19 ramp toll plazas have also been prepared for entry and exit in different districts. This expressway passes through 12 districts of Uttar Pradesh, which include districts like Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli and Pratapgarh. The design speed of this highway has been kept at 120 kilometers per hour, which will make fast and safe travel possible.
