The IPL 2026 has been set on fire by Vaibhav Suryavanshi. The 15-year-old has taken the tournament by storm and there is chatter that his India debut may just be around the corner. But while he enjoys the accolades, the teenager also saw the darker side of fans.
The Dark Side of FansIt is no secret that fans crave a glance from their superstars but when it does not happen, there is no reason to target the person in question. The same thing happened when fans tried to get Vaibhav’s attention on the team bus but the kid was listening to music so did not notice them or hear them.

The moment that happened, a video went viral with people questioning his attitude. It was victimising the young man when he was not at fault to begin with.
Netizens Defend Vaibhav SuryavanshiBut netizens were not having it. They jumped to Vaibhav’s defence and called out the behaviour of the fans mocking him. They labelled them ‘shameless’ and ‘disgusting’ for going after a kid. Here’s what they had to say:
Shameless how grown men are mocking a 15-year-old for 'attitude.' He’s just a kid trying to process the pressure of being a professional athlete. Let him breathe.💔 pic.twitter.com/HrDY6uY33D

Indians and their obsession with judging based on a few seconds of interaction. Disgusting! That too on a 15yr old kid..

At the moment, Vaibhav has the most runs in IPL 2026. He leads the pack with 400 in nine innings at an average of 44.44 and strike rate of 238.10. RR at the moment are in 3rd place with six wins and three losses in nine games.
Can RR End an 18-Year Title Drought?A total of 40 league games have been played so 30 are left. RR have not won the title since winning the first-ever edition in 2008. They are on course to finish in the top four. Shall they lift the trophy on May 31? For that to happen Vaibhav needs to continue doing what he is.
