Crunchyroll is a global anime brand fueling anime fandom, offering licensed Japanese content in more than 200 countries. Through its partnership with Galaxy Play, users in Vietnam can access the platform with a localized interface and local payment options.

In addition to long-running titles, Crunchyroll recently announced its spring anime lineup, including Daemons of the Shadow Realm, Re:ZERO – Starting Life in Another World, and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season 4.

One of the platform’s features is simulcast streaming for premium subscribers, allowing viewers to watch new episodes shortly after their broadcast in Japan. This enables audiences in Vietnam to follow global release schedules more closely and stay in sync with anime fans worldwide.

Brian McGarvey, Vice President of Global Business Development at Crunchyroll, said the partnership with Galaxy Play is part of the company’s efforts to expand access to licensed anime in Vietnam.

“By working with a strong local partner, we’re able to offer anime fans a more seamless and locally relevant experience while continuing to grow access to licensed anime in the market,” he said.

The collaboration is expected to contribute to the development of Vietnam’s licensed digital content sector while broadening entertainment options for younger audiences.

Crunchyroll operates as a joint venture between Sony Pictures Entertainment and Aniplex, a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment (Japan), all under the Sony Group.

Galaxy Play is part of the Galaxy Entertainment ecosystem, which also includes Galaxy Cinema and Galaxy Studio. The platform serves millions of users in Vietnam, offering a diverse library of local and international content across multiple devices.

As part of the launch, Galaxy Play will offer a catalog of more than 500 anime titles, totaling over 6,000 hours of content. The service provides licensed, ad-free streaming with Vietnamese subtitles and simulcast releases aligned with Japan.

The platform is accessible via smart TVs, mobile devices, and web browsers, with subscription plans starting from VND45,000 (US$1.71) per month.
