Udupi: A major mishap was averted near Jatka Stand in the city on April 29 after a tree suddenly fell on the road, narrowly missing a woman who was walking nearby.

The incident occurred in a busy area where concerns had already been raised over the presence of weak and potentially dangerous trees that need to be removed. Despite the fall of the tree in a crowded location, no injuries were reported to pedestrians or damage caused to vehicles.
