AC is often out of reach in middle class households. And the air cooler fills that space. Most people rely on it to get some relief in this scorching heat. But the problem is, whether it is due to continuous use for a long time or not cleaning properly, the cooler starts to emit a strong musty smell. And that makes the home environment smelly. In fact, the algae and bacteria growing in the cooler water are at the root of this problem. If the device is not cleaned regularly, it brings discomfort instead of comfort. But don’t worry. Keeping a few Henschel items on hand can keep this problem at bay.

1) White Vinegar: Vinegar is great for cleaning coolers. It is a natural cleaning agent. First, drain the old water from the cooler tank. Now fill it with clean water and mix half a cup of white vinegar. Leave it like this for an hour. Then drain the water and wash well. Vinegar helps kill bacteria and lift mineral deposits.

2) Baking Soda: Add baking soda to absorb odors in the house. Does the cooler smell musty when running? Nothing to worry about. Take a spoon or two of baking soda. Mix in cooler tank. Mix it with water and keep it like that for 20 minutes. Then wash the cooler tank thoroughly. This will remove the smell and also make the inside of the cooler shiny.

3) Clean the cooling pad: Just cleaning the tank is not enough. It is also important to keep the grass or wood chalk pads on the cooler clean. Wet these pads in vinegar or mild soapy water and scrub lightly with a brush. It will remove dust and germs. If the pad is clean, the air will also be fresh.

4) Change tank water: Change the water regularly to keep the cooler in good condition. Change the water in the tank at least every two days. Clean the cooler with a scrubber at least once a week. And when not in use, empty the tank and keep it dry. Without moisture there is no fear of germs.
