Samrat Chaudhary's government in Bihar has taken a big decision and changed the names of two major institutions. Patna Zoo (Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park), which was named after Sanjay Gandhi, has been changed to 'Patna Zoo'. The name of 'Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Dairy Technology' has also changed. It has now been changed to 'Bihar State Institute of Dairy Technology'.
Both these places were earlier in the name of Sanjay Gandhi, son of former PM Indira Gandhi, which has now been changed. These decisions were taken in the meeting chaired by CM Samrat Chaudhary. Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park i.e. 'Patna Zoo' was opened for the general public in 1973. It is near Bailey Road in Patna. This zoo is spread over 153 acres. More than 800 animals of more than 110 species live here.
The name of 'Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Dairy Technology' has now been changed to 'Bihar State Institute of Dairy Technology'. This college, built in 1980, is located in Patna. Dairy technology is studied in this. It is an ICAR-recognized institute. It was established by the state government in 1980. It offers BTech and MTech programs in Dairy Technology. Apart from this, many other decisions were taken. 61 other decisions included issues like free electricity, education, health, roads and infrastructure.
