Philadelphia Flyers' Cam York (8) celebrates after scoring the game-winning goal during overtime in Game 6 against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Cam York delivered the decisive moment in overtime as the Philadelphia Flyers edged the Pittsburgh Penguins 1-0 in Game 6 on Wednesday, clinching the series and advancing to the second round of the NHL Eastern Conference playoffs. York scored with just 2:30 remaining in the first overtime period, netting his first career playoff goal at a crucial time. His winner came after a strong offensive-zone faceoff, where he fired a wrist shot from the right point through heavy traffic. The puck clipped the post and slipped past goaltender Arturs Silovs, ending a tense and tightly contested game.

Philadelphia had initially dominated the best-of-seven series, winning the first three games, but back-to-back losses in Games 4 and 5 put them under pressure heading into Game 6. Despite struggling offensively for long stretches, they found a way to close out the series and now move on to face the Carolina Hurricanes.

"The way that the game was going, we knew it was going to be a greasy (goal)," York said after the game. "Just wanted to get it to the net, and it found a hole."

Both goaltenders were outstanding throughout the matchup. Silovs recorded 31 saves for Pittsburgh, making several key stops to keep his team in the game. On the other end, Dan Vladar was exceptional, turning aside 42 shots to secure his second shutout of the series.

Chances were limited early on, with both teams failing to convert on power-play opportunities in the first period. Silovs denied attempts from Owen Tippett and Porter Martone, while Vladar stood firm during a Penguins power play in the second.

Philadelphia came close to breaking the deadlock when Matvei Michkov had a breakaway opportunity, but Silovs shut the door. The Flyers also failed to capitalize on a third-period power play following a penalty on Kris Letang.

Late in regulation, both teams had chances, including a shot off the post from Tommy Novak and a strong save by Vladar on Bryan Rust. Overtime brought more drama, with Evgeni Malkin threatening early and Silovs making a remarkable stick save before York finally sealed the victory moments later.
