MP Farmer Scheme: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav launched many important initiatives in the Krishi Karmayogi Orientation Training and Workshop organized in Bhopal. In this program held at Ravindra Bhawan, Chief Minister Farmer Welfare Dashboard, mega campaign to increase membership in PACS committees and toll free CM Farmer Helpline 155253 for farmers were launched. The Chief Minister himself joined the helpline and collected information related to agriculture.
The Chief Minister said that under the Farmer Welfare Year, 16 departments are working together in the interest of farmers. The government is working towards increasing the income of farmers by adding departments like horticulture, cooperation, animal husbandry and fisheries. He urged the officers to work with dedication and positive thinking.
Dr. Yadav said that the state government is connecting farmers with new agricultural technologies. This will reduce costs and increase income. Referring to the increase in the support price of wheat, he said that now it is being purchased at Rs 2625 per quintal. Additionally, farmers are now earning additional income from agricultural waste such as corn and wheat stalks.
The Chief Minister said that earlier Rabi crop was dependent on rain, but now irrigation facilities are available through canals and electricity. Due to this, farmers are also taking the third crop in a year. The state government has also started a bonus of Rs 600 per quintal along with the support price on urad.
Under the guidance of the Prime Minister, the state is benefiting from river interlinking projects like Ken-Betwa and Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal. The Central Government has given 90 percent funds for these projects. The Chief Minister laid emphasis on water conservation and modern farming.
Agriculture Minister Aidal Singh Kanshana said that agricultural fairs are being organized in every district in the state and brainstorming is being done with the officials through this workshop. According to the Agriculture Department, 1627 officers from 16 departments have been included in this training.
