Tezzbuzz Desk- A big news has come out regarding the world’s most popular instant messaging app WhatsApp. According to reports, the company is now working on developing its own cloud backup system, so that users will not have to depend on third-party services for backup.
Currently, WhatsApp users have to use services like Google Drive and iCloud for chat backup. The new step of the company is being seen in the direction of reducing this dependence.
If the company’s own cloud system is launched, users will be able to store their chats, photos, videos and documents directly on WhatsApp’s servers.
According to the report, in the coming time users will have the option to use WhatsApp’s own cloud storage. Or keep backups on third-party services like Google Drive and iCloud as before. This feature will be especially beneficial for those whose free cloud storage fills up quickly.
According to reports, the company can offer different plans under this new cloud storage system. Up to 2GB of free storage, around 50GB of paid plan, which can cost around $0.99 (about Rs 94) per month. However, it is not yet clear whether free storage will be available to all users or only to those taking subscription.
At present, Android users are completely dependent on Google Drive, where only 15GB storage is available in the free plan. This space also includes emails, photos and other files, due to which the space for WhatsApp backup gets exhausted quickly. With the arrival of the new cloud service, users are expected to get more storage and flexibility.
Users had been demanding more storage and better backup options for a long time. In such a situation, this step of WhatsApp will not only improve the user experience, but will also give the company more control over its platform.
If WhatsApp’s own cloud storage system is launched, it can prove to be a big change for the users. More storage, better backup options, and less third-party dependency—all these benefits make it special. Now it remains to be seen how long the company will roll out this feature for all users.
