Often people ignore stomach ache, frequent toilet visits or digestive problems considering them as minor. But many times these small symptoms are pointing towards some serious disease.

Something similar happened with 45-year-old Sais Prasad, living in Eastbourne, England. Initially he thought it was a normal food poisoning or upset stomach problem, but gradually this problem increased so much that his entire life started getting affected.

About 15 years ago, one night he suddenly had severe pain in his stomach. He thought it would get better after some time, but instead of reducing, the pain remained constant. There was no improvement in the condition for the first 10 days, rather the situation became more serious. Sass says that he used to stay at home the whole day and needed to go to the bathroom every 5 to 10 minutes. This problem had increased so much that his normal life almost came to a halt.

What kind of disease happened?

Recalling that period, Sass says that I used to go to the toilet more than 100 times a day. My body had become very weak due to constant pain and bleeding. I became afraid even to eat food. The effect of this disease was clearly visible on his body. Within two years, he lost about 15 kg of weight, his face turned pale and he started feeling very tired. The situation became so bad that he started feeling uncomfortable even going out of the house. At that time Sass was about 30 years old and led an active life as a football coach.

He used to go to the gym daily and took full care of his fitness. But this disease suddenly changed the direction of his life. The most difficult thing was that he could not understand what was happening to him. When his friends were busy traveling and celebrating holidays, Sass was worried about his health. He also started worrying about whether he would find a life partner who could understand his situation. Finally, in March 2012, doctors diagnosed him with Crohn's disease. This is a disease that affects the digestive system and persists for a long time. In this, there is swelling in the intestines, causing pain and other serious symptoms.

This news was very shocking for Sass. He told that on hearing this he fainted in the hospital itself. The doctors gave him medicines and steroids and also told him that surgery may be required in the future. Any person would have panicked after hearing this, but Sass did not give up.

He started paying special attention to his daily routine and diet. He realized that packaged and highly processed foods were adding to his problem. After this he changed his diet and adopted simple and nutritious home-made food. Besides, he also tried to improve his sleep and lifestyle.
