Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan returned to the big screen after the failure of Loveyapa last year and this time he was joined by south star Sai Pallavi in her Bollywood debut.

The movie in question is Ek Din an official remake of 2016 Thai movie One Day. The Hindi remake isdirected by Sunil Pandey and produced by Aamir Khan.

Junaid Khan & Sai Pallavi’s Ek Din Audience Review & Reactions

The emotional romantic drama is getting mixed to negative reviews from the audience, with many saying that it lacks depth while others are criticising the movie's writing.

Sharing their review, one social media user wrote, “Ek Din review: Lacks the depth it needed. Sai Pallavi is pure magic on screen, and Junaid Khan delivers a solid performance. But the writing? Sadly below average, and it holds the film back.”

Another user commented, “#EkDinReview: SOMETHING ASMISS. RATING - 2.5/5. Seriously, if #SaiPallavi continues with this Tamil-accented Hindi, I’m genuinely worried about #Ramayana. #EkDin borrows almost everything except the climax, perhaps because it would have limited its appeal.

#JunaidKhan manages to make the character somewhat relatable. #SunilPandey makes a decent debut, but choosing a remake to kickstart a career doesn’t feel particularly promising.

#AKP has delivered many strong original films in the past, but its recent inclination toward remakes doesn’t seem like the wisest move.”

A third user commented, “Even though Sai Pallavi is a talented actress, the dialogues and Hindi feel awkward at many places—it’s hard to connect. If this continues, it does raise some concern about big upcoming projects like “Ramayan.”

Junaid Khan has clearly put in effort, and it shows, but the film lacks the emotional impact needed to truly connect with the audience. The story is very simple and predictable—no major twists or fresh angle. It feels like a remake of a foreign film, adapted in a desi style without much creative input.

The direction is average—not bad, but nothing memorable either. The climax is easy to predict, and the songs are just okay.”

Also starring Kunal Kapoor, Ek Din is expected to collect poorly on day one as it will face tough competition from Riteish Deshmukh’s Raja Shivaji and Akshay Kumar’s holdover Bhooth Bangla.
