Donald Trump welcomed King Charles andQueen Camilla for the US state visit this week despite multiple calls for the King not to attend. The visit saw multiple progressions made between the UK and the US as Trump made a huge UK tariff move to remove US tariffs and restrictions on whiskey "in honour of the King and Queen". It's been no secret that the relationship between the US and the UK had soured in recent months after an ongoing feud between Trump and Prime Minister Keir Starmer, but it seems things are moving in the right direction after King Charles' visit to the US.

After a four-day state visit, Charles headed home to the UK earlier this week after the successful trip, and now Trump has spoken out on how he really feels about His Majesty, texting his UK pal Piers Morgan to talk about the royal.

He wrote on X: "Texting with President Trump, and he's ecstatic about Royal visit. Told me King Charles is 'a great guy', and the state dinner was 'a wonderful evening, very special.' I think the Monarch & Queen Camilla single-handedly repaired the Special Relationship. Congrats, Your Majesties!"

People were in the comments also praising hte visit as one user wrote: "To that end, at least. Charles conquered. Brilliant visit. Still have your PM to suffer."

Another wrote: "Yes, their trip was very nice. They did bring a warm and friendly feeling to Americans, except perhaps those who are always cynical to everything." A third added: "They've done brilliant work repairing a rocky relationship, however there is still Sir Keir..."

The ongoing issues with Trump and Keir Starmer haven't fizzled out after the US President made it clear that he wasn't impressed with the Prime Minister. He recently spoke on the King and the Prime Minister as he told Sky: "[Charles] is a much different person than your prime minister. Your prime minister has to learn to deal the way he deals and he'll do a lot better."

When asked if he felt the visit would improve his relationship with Starmer, Trump said:

"I can tell you one thing, our relationship is very good, but you know that's another individual. We will find out, but I like Keir Starmer very much.

"I think he's made a tragic mistake on immigration and a tragic mistake on energy."
