Haridwar News: A controversial video from Haridwar, the city of faith and reverence, is becoming increasingly viral on social media. The matter is of the famous Sarvanand Ghat of Haridwar, where a huge uproar was created when a woman bathed her pet dog in the Ganga. Seeing such activity in the center of faith, the local people and devotees got angry.

According to the information, a woman had come on a tour to Haridwar with her family. Meanwhile, she reached Ganga Ghat with her pet dog and started bathing it in holy water. When other devotees present at the ghat protested, saying it was against the dignity of Ganga, instead of calming down, the woman instead got angry at the people. There was a heated argument between the woman and the local people for a long time.

Family members took charge

Seeing the argument escalating and sensing the anger of the people, the family members accompanying the woman intervened. After convincing the family members, the woman immediately left the ghat with the dog. Although the exact date of this incident has not been officially confirmed yet, there is huge anger among the people after its video went viral on social media.

Pilgrimage priests expressed objection

Pilgrimage priests have also expressed strong objection regarding the matter. Pilgrimage priest Ujjwal Pandit said that Ganga is not just a river but a symbol of faith of crores of people. Such activities on the ghats hurt religious sentiments. He has demanded that to maintain the dignity of Ganga, the administration should take strict action against such people and increase surveillance on the ghats.

Users on social media are also appealing to the administration to impose heavy fines on those bathing pets or spreading dirt at holy places so that such incidents are not repeated in future.
