Everyone's eyes are on the results of the assembly elections held in five states. The whole country is keeping an eye on who will win especially in Bengal and Assam. Meanwhile, the statement of All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) leader Rafiqul Islam has come to light. He has said that he wants a non-BJP government to be formed in Assam this time. Along with this, he also raised questions on the role of Election Commission in West Bengal.

Islam announced that if needed, his party would support the formation of a non-BJP government in Assam. He said, 'We want change in Assam; Non-BJP government should be formed. If anyone needs our support, we will provide full support. We will help in the formation of non-BJP government. We hope to win more than 10-12 seats.

Questions raised on the functioning of the Election Commission

Along with this, the AIUDF leader raised questions on the functioning of the Election Commission and said that Trinamool Congress (TMC) no longer has faith in the Election Commission. He alleged that in West Bengal, joint appointment of central and state employees has been made for counting of votes, which does not happen in other states. TMC approached the Supreme Court regarding this issue, but did not get any special relief from there. Islam said that the working style of the Election Commission seems different in West Bengal, which raises questions on the transparency of the election process.

'Election Commission is doing something different in Bengal'

He said that the Election Commission is doing something different in West Bengal, which was seen during the elections and is now being seen during the counting of votes also. He said, 'One thing is clear, the Election Commission is doing something different in West Bengal. We have seen this during elections and now also during counting of votes. Therefore, TMC does not trust the Election Commission. We are waiting for 4th May. We want the Election Commission to conduct the counting of votes independently.

Congress leader expressed concern over the situation in Bengal

At the same time, Congress leader TS Singh Deo also expressed concern over the tense situation in West Bengal. Dev said that there is a tense situation there. He said that the deployment of 3 lakh paramilitary forces had never been seen before in any election. He said, 'Selected officers like encounter specialists have been sent. This is sheer hooliganism. Your job is to take action, not engage in hooliganism. If elections are being held in such circumstances, then you can imagine how fair they are. He questioned whether Mallikarjun Kharge receives notice for any of his statements. Has Amit Shah or Prime Minister Modi ever received any notice?'

Shock to TMC from Supreme Court

Here on Saturday, the Supreme Court refused to give any direction on the petition of Trinamool Congress, in which the order of Calcutta High Court was challenged. The High Court had rejected the petition filed against the alleged deployment of only central government employees as voter counting observers in the assembly elections.

For urgent hearing of the case on Saturday, Justice P.S. A special bench of Narasimha and Joymalya Bagchi was formed as the counting of votes is to begin from May 4. The petitioner argued that any delay would render the petition infructuous. However, the special bench refused to interfere in the matter.
