Prince Archie is celebrating his 7th birthday today with his nearest and dearest. The young prince was born at the Portland Hospital in London at 05:26 on Monday, May 6, 2019. He was presented to the world a few days later in St George's Hall at Windsor Castle.
While he was born in the UK, Archie has spent most of his life in America. Less than a year after his birth, his parents Prince Harry and Meghan Markle quit royal life and moved across the pond.
Here, the Daily Express has looked at the seven best photographs of Prince Archie over the years...
Although he has spent most of his life in America, Prince Archie was born in the UK. Prince Archie of Sussex was born at 05:26 on Monday 6th May. He was born at the private Portland Hospital in Westminster. Archie weighed 7lb 3oz at the time of birth, which Prince Harry was present for. They did not show their son to the media on the day he was born.
Prince Archie was two days old when he was shown to the world on May 8 at Windsor Castle. The Duchess of Sussex said as the family stepped out in front of the cameras: "It's magic, it's pretty amazing. I have the two best guys in the world, so I'm really happy. He has the sweetest temperament, he's really calm." Prince Harry went on to say that parenting "is amazing".
While Prince Archie has not seen his royal relatives much since living in America, the first year of his life did see him surrounded by his royal relatives. Various photographs from the time showed him meeting his great grandparents the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, who were reportedly delighted to have another great grandchild. Archie was also photographed when he was just a few months old with his mum Meghan, his auntie Princess Catherine and his cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. This was when they attended The King Power Royal Charity Polo Day at Billingbear Polo Club.
Archie also went on a royal tour with Harry and Meghan in 2019. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took their young son with them during their royal tour of South Africa in 2019. The prince was photographed both with his parents and with Archbishop Desmond Tutu and his daughter, Thandeka Tutu-Gxashe, at the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation.
Since the family moved to Montecito in 2020, only a few photographs have been shared of Prince Archie, who is sixth-in-line to the throne. However, it is believed he enjoys living in Montecito, where he is now enrolled in a school. The young prince apparently enjoys football and surfing - both of which he has had lessons in.
Archie is also believed to share a very close bond with his younger sister, Princess Lilibet, who was born in 2021. The pair are often seen together playing or having fun on Meghan's Instagram, although their faces are never shown for privacy reasons. This includes photographs of the siblings having fun at Disneyland last year.
When photographs of Archie are shared by Meghan online, fans are often quick to comment on how he seems to take after Prince Harry's Spencer relatives. This is believed to be because of the shade of his hair, which is similar to Prince Harry's as a child. One fan once wrote on X: "Archie with his red Spencer hair." Another fan once said: "Prince Archie's hair colour is such a beautiful hue of red."
