Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) party chief actor Vijay, who registered a historic victory in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections, has staked claim to form the government. TVK President Vijay met Acting Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at Raj Bhavan in Guindy, Chennai on Wednesday. During this, he has staked claim to form the government before the Governor. It is believed that Vijay has started the process of forming the government only after TVK agrees to an alliance with other parties.

In fact, out of 234 seats in the state, no party or alliance has achieved the required figure of 118 for majority. According to the election results data, Vijay-led TVK has won 108 seats, while the ruling DMK (DMK) alliance has won 73 seats and the AIADMK (AIADMK) alliance has won 53 seats. Apart from this, Congress 5, PMK 4, IUML 2, CPI 2, VCK 2, CPI-M 2. BJP, DMDK and AMMK have won 1 seat each. Due to lack of majority, a situation of political uncertainty had arisen in the state, to overcome which TVK has started the process of alliance with other parties.

Preparations for swearing-in underway at Indoor Stadium in Chennai

Earlier, Tamil Nadu Congress President K. Selvaperunthaga and other Congress leaders met TVK Chief Vijay at TVK headquarters in Chennai. Tamil Nadu Congress Committee and Congress Legislative Party (CLP) have decided to extend their full support to TVK to form the government. Preparations are underway at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai for the swearing-in ceremony of TVK Chief Vijay as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Awaiting formal communication from Vijay's side

At the same time, it is now considered almost certain that TVK will form the government in Tamil Nadu with the Congress Party. Congress has only 5 MLAs in the 234-member state assembly. But these are very important for the TVK government. Currently, left parties like CPI and CPI(M) are also considering supporting TVK, although they have waited for a formal communication from Vijay. If left parties also come together then TVK will easily form the government.

Rahul Gandhi may also attend Vijay's swearing-in

It is being told that after the support situation is clear, Rahul Gandhi can also attend the swearing in of TVK chief Thalapathy Vijay. This victory is being considered historic for Vijay and his new party TVK. Vijay, who was busy in films till a few years ago, has completely shaken the politics of Tamil Nadu as soon as he entered politics. This spectacular success of TVK is being said to be the result of its popularity and strong appeal among the youth and middle class.
