Team India’s opening batter Abhishek Sharma is still the No.1 batter in the ICC T20 Rankings. Meanwhile, Bangladesh players, who recently played against New Zealand in a three-match T20I series, have improved their positions.
Towhid Hridoy, Litton Das, Mahedi Hasan and Shoriful Islam have made significant gains despite the series ending 1-1, with one match called off due to rain. Several players made their presence felt and moved up in the rankings released by the apex body of international cricket.
Hridoy was named the Player of the Series for scoring 84 runs in two innings, and he moved up to the 37th spot among the batters in the shortest format. Litton also made a jump of one place after amassing 26 runs in the last game in Mirpur.
Abhishek, who hasn’t played international cricket since March 9, continues to lead the rankings. Ishan Kishan is four points behind the young southpaw. Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan is the No.3 batter, with a difference of 23 points from Kishan.
Among bowlers, Mahedi Hasan has reached 17th place while Shoriful Islam moved up 9 spots to 54th.
For New Zealand, Ben Sears jumped 10 spots to reach 51st place while Ish Sodhi moved up by four places to be placed joint 88th. Sodhi has become the highest T20I wicket-taker for New Zealand, going past Tim Southee’s record of 164 wickets. He has amassed 165 wickets so far.
The ODI rankings also saw some movement after a tri-series between Nepal, Oman, and the UAE.
Oman opener Jatinder Singh has reached the joint 65th place among the batters in the fifty-over format.
His teammate Shakeel Ahmed is now at the 31st place in the bowlers’ rankings.
Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee made a jump of 12 places to achieve the 31st rank among the all-rounders in one-day internationals.
