Najmul Hossain Shanto Century: Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hasan Shanto has once again shown his class and scored a brilliant century. This left-handed batsman scored a century in just 130 balls at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Shanto hit 2 sixes and 12 fours in his innings and he scored the 9th Test century of his career. With this, Shanto made a big record in his name. Shanto has become the captain with the most Test centuries for Bangladesh. Shanto has achieved this milestone in just 30 innings.
Nazmul Hasan Shanto has scored 5 centuries in 30 innings as the captain of Bangladesh. He broke the record of Mushfiqur Rahim who had scored 4 Test centuries as captain. Mominul Haq had scored 3 centuries. Let us tell you that Shanto has scored 9 centuries in 74 test innings. If he continues playing at this pace, he will soon become the batsman who has scored the most Test centuries for Bangladesh. Mominul Haq has scored 13 centuries in 140 innings for Bangladesh. In the Dhaka Test, Pakistan captain Shan Masood won the toss and decided to field first. Shaheen Afridi bowled brilliantly and gave the first blow to Bangladesh by dismissing Mahmadul Hasan Joy for 8 runs. After this Shadman Islam was dismissed by Hasan Ali. After losing two wickets early, Mominul Haq and captain Shanto took charge of the innings. Both of them established a stake on the crease and made a partnership of 170 runs in 257 balls. Both the players played hard on the wicket and took Bangladesh past 100 in the 26th over and till lunch, Bangladesh scored 101 runs.
After lunch, Shanto completed his half-century in just 71 balls. Along with Mominul, he made a century partnership in 148 balls. Mominul also completed his half-century in 102 balls. Bangladesh crossed 200 in 52.1 overs. After the half-century, Shanto showed aggressive play and completed his century in 129 balls, however, as soon as he scored the century, he was out LBW on the ball of Mohammad Abbas.
