A horrifying incident has emerged from Assam, where a 19-year-old daughter reportedly beheaded her mother. The severity of the crime is underscored by the fact that she fled the scene carrying her mother's severed head.
In the western Karbi Anglong district, a young woman named Pooja Malang is accused of murdering her 42-year-old mother, Anumai Malang, by cutting her throat. Following the act, she allegedly hid with her mother's head throughout the night. This brutal act has shocked the community, prompting immediate police action.
The accused, identified as Pooja Malang, attacked her mother around 10 PM on Wednesday. During the incident, she also assaulted her father, Premendra Malang, and her sister, both of whom sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment at a government hospital.
Investigations revealed that when Pooja's father and sister attempted to intervene, they were injured as well. Disturbingly, Pooja managed to escape with her mother's severed head and evaded police capture until Thursday morning. Reports suggest she spent the entire night hiding with the gruesome trophy.
During the search, authorities discovered a sickle, scissors, and items typically used in rituals, such as vermilion, oil, and a clay pot, near the crime scene. While police have yet to comment officially, initial investigations indicate that the murder may be linked to superstitions or black magic.
The local police have registered a case against Pooja Malang. Sources indicate that there have been no reports of domestic disputes within the family. Authorities are now exploring whether the young woman was involved in any occult practices or if she might be suffering from mental health issues.
