Supporters of President Donald Trump are increasingly frustrated as the anticipated Trump Mobile T1 smartphone experiences ongoing delays. Many customers who paid $100 deposits nearly a year ago are still waiting for their devices. The T1, a gold-colored smartphone, was introduced in June 2025 by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump during the launch of Trump Mobile, a new wireless service. Customers were encouraged to place refundable deposits in anticipation of a 2025 release.
However, the launch faced setbacks due to a government shutdown, pushing the release to January 2026. Since then, many customers report a lack of communication, leading to widespread dissatisfaction online.
Rising Discontent
Numerous Trump supporters have taken to platforms like TikTok and X to express their grievances. One customer shared a viral TikTok video stating, “Hey, Trump supporter here. This goes out to Don Jr. and Eric. Where’s my phone? I ordered four T1 phones… Now we can’t get any updates on them!” Others echoed similar sentiments, lamenting that they had encouraged family members to preorder only to be left without information.
Concerns Over Terms and Conditions
Critics have highlighted the terms and conditions on the Trump Mobile website, which indicate that a preorder deposit “does not guarantee that a Device will be produced or made available for purchase.” The company also notes that deposits do not establish a sales contract or reserve inventory. Approximately 600,000 individuals are believed to have placed deposits for the phone, which was initially marketed as “Made in the USA” but later changed to “designed with American values.”
The expected retail price for the phone is $499, while the Trump Mobile service plan is priced at $47.45 per month, a nod to Trump’s presidency.
Current Situation
As of May 10, 2026, Trump Mobile has yet to announce a definitive new delivery date. The company maintains that deposits are fully refundable. Supporters who once eagerly anticipated the project are now seeking answers, with some accusing it of being another instance of “Trump-branded” business hype. The situation continues to escalate as customers await clear updates on when, or if, they will receive their phones.
