It was once a big challenge for pregnant women to not get timely medical care, which sometimes put their lives in danger. But now Yogi government’s 102 ambulance service (Mother and Child Services) is no less than a boon for these women. In comparison to the year 2015-17, a significant reduction in maternal mortality rate has been recorded in the survey report of 2021-23. These efforts of Yogi government have played an important role in reducing the maternal mortality ratio.
Today, the response time of 102 ambulance service in the state has reduced to only 7 minutes. This simply means that in case of emergency, medical care is available in just seven minutes. With this response time, Uttar Pradesh is at number one in the entire country. Additional Chief Secretary Medical, Health, Amit Ghosh said that Chief Minister Yogi has taken big and decisive steps to reduce the maternal mortality ratio. For this, hospitals from urban to rural areas of the state were strengthened. Also, work was done on various aspects to reduce the response time of 102 ambulance service, the results of which are visible to everyone today.
It is the effect of CM Yogi’s visionary thinking and constant monitoring that at present the response time of ambulance service 102 is 7:06 minutes, whereas in the year 2016 it was 11:28 minutes. This reduction did not happen in a day, but is the result of CM Yogi’s continuous efforts and initiatives in the last nine years. To achieve this goal, CM Yogi removed 1,554 dilapidated ambulances in 2019 and 674 in 2023 and purchased ambulances equipped with new health technology. Additionally, 306 additional new ambulances were added to further improve the service. At present, a total of 2,270 ambulance services 102 are operating in the state, through which on an average 40,524 mothers and children are being provided assistance every day.
Mission Director of National Health Mission, Dr. Pinky Joval said that due to reduction in response time of 102 ambulance service, a significant reduction in maternal mortality ratio has been recorded in the state. According to the Sample Registration Survey (SRS), the maternal mortality ratio of the state was recorded at 216 per lakh in the year 2015-17, which has come down to 141 per lakh in the year 2021-23. It is the result of the tireless efforts of CM Yogi that the response time of the ambulance service kept improving year after year. He told that the response time of ambulance service 102 was 11:28 minutes in the year 2016, 12:01 minutes in the year 2017. And in the year 2018 11:21 min. were recorded. At the same time, during the global Corona epidemic in the year 2020, 13:42 min. And in the year 2021 12:02 min. Response time was recorded. Subsequently, an impressive response time of 7:01 minutes was achieved in the year 2022 and 7:02 minutes in the year 2023.
Currently the response time is 7:06 minutes. The most important thing is that Uttar Pradesh has the lowest response time of ambulance service in the entire country, whereas Uttar Pradesh is the state with the highest population of 25.74 crore in the country. Uttar Pradesh ranks first across the country with a response time of 7:06 minutes of ambulance service, while Rajasthan is at second place with 7:57 minutes and Kerala is at third place with 10:45 minutes. These figures show how the commitment and effective policies of the Yogi government have saved the lives of millions of mothers and babies.
