Efforts to end the ongoing tension between America and Iran have intensified. In this connection, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and White House Special Envoy Steve Witkoff met Qatar's Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in Miami on Saturday. A possible peace agreement with Iran was discussed in this meeting.
According to the report, America and Iran are negotiating a one-page peace proposal. This is a one-page Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the purpose of which is to first end the war and then start detailed talks on major issues like the nuclear program.
Qatar's role in this conversation is considered very important. Pakistan has been the official mediator since the beginning of the war, but Qatar is also continuously engaged in facilitating talks between the two countries behind the scenes. American officials believe that Qatar is playing a very effective role in negotiations with Iran.
According to sources, the Prime Minister of Qatar met the US Vice President in Washington on Friday. JD Vance Had also met. After this he was to return directly to Doha, but he changed his schedule and reached Miami. In Miami he also spoke on phone to the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia. During this, the ongoing efforts regarding the US-Iran agreement were discussed.
Sources say that the main focus of the meeting held in Miami was to prepare the way for an agreement to end the war. Qatar, Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia are together trying to reduce tension between the two countries.
Mediator countries say that both America and Iran should reduce tension and focus on the agreement. Till Saturday afternoon, America was waiting for a new reply from Iran.
