CM Mohan Yadav attends Malwa Utsav, highlights culture and local economy in Indore

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav attended the silver jubilee edition of the Malwa Utsav in Indore, where cultural performances, handicraft exhibitions, and regional food stalls were showcased as part of the annual festival. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister described such events as platforms that bring together communities through cultural exchange and social interaction.
The festival, organised by the Lok Sanskriti Manch, featured folk performances including bhangra, garba, and traditional dances from different states. Artists and cultural groups from across the country participated in the programme. The event also included stalls displaying handicrafts, regional cuisine, and products prepared by local artisans and small vendors. During the programme, Mohan Yadav announced financial assistance of ₹5 lakh for the organisers as part of the festival’s silver jubilee celebrations.
The Chief Minister also attended the three-day “Mango Jatra” organised at the rural haat market complex in Indore. The event showcased Alphonso (Hapus) mangoes brought from Ratnagiri and Devgarh in Maharashtra. Farmers and exhibitors displayed mango varieties and mango-based food products including juices, sweets, pickles, jams, candies, and traditional dishes. Officials said the event was aimed at connecting producers directly with consumers and supporting local agricultural markets.
During his visit, Mohan Yadav interacted with mango growers and announced an incentive of ₹11,000 each for 24 participating farmers. Organisers said the event has been regularly bringing fruit growers from Maharashtra to Indore for more than a decade. Along with mango products, the exhibition also included khadi garments, handmade items, spices, and processed food products, attracting large crowds over the weekend.
