Former India wicketkeeper-batsman Deep Dasgupta believes that Rashid Khan is back to his old rhythm. Rashid bowled brilliantly and took 4 wickets in the match played between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Saturday.
Rashid was the hero of Gujarat Titans’ resounding 77-run win. Deep Dasgupta said that Rashid looked in form against RR and all his balls were targeting the stumps.
Speaking to ‘ESPN Cricinfo’, Deep Dasgupta said, “Look at the wicket of Shubham Dubey, which was bowled over the wicket to the left-handed batsman. If Rashid turns the ball from off stump or outside the off stump and hits the middle stump, then it is a really good ball.”
He further said, “In this match against RR, Rashid looked in his old form. If you remember when Rashid was in his best form, almost every ball was hitting the stumps.”
Dasgupta said that Rashid took three wickets by clean bowling the batsman, while one batsman was made LBW, which shows that he continuously targeted the stumps throughout the innings.
Rashid Khan took 4 wickets while conceding only 33 runs in a 4 over spell against Rajasthan Royals. He sent strong batsmen like Dhruv Jurel, Ravindra Jadeja, Ferreira and Shubham Dubey to the pavilion. Due to Rashid’s brilliant bowling, the entire RR team was all out after scoring 152 runs while chasing the target of 230 runs given by GT.
On behalf of GT, captain Shubhman Gill batted brilliantly and played a strong inning of 84 runs in 44 balls, while Sai Sudarshan contributed 55 runs. This was GT’s seventh win of this season, after which the team has come second in the points table.
