The start of the Bangladesh tour has not been very good for the Pakistan cricket team. In the first test match against Bangladesh, on one hand the team's bowling looked poor, while on the other hand its batting also did not show strength. On the third day of the ongoing Test match in Mirpur, Pakistan's first innings collapsed for just 386 runs and Bangladesh got a lead of 27 runs. Spinner Mehdi Hasan Miraz played the biggest role in making Pakistan suffer, in front of whom half of Pakistan's batting unit surrendered.
On the third day of the match on Sunday, May 10, at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, the Pakistani team took its first innings forward and for that, opener Azaan Awais scored a brilliant century. This century of Awais was special because he was making his debut in Test cricket and he scored this century in his very first innings. Along with Imam ul Haq and Abdullah Fazal, he gave a great start to the team.
But after this, wickets started falling one by one and soon the team had lost 5 wickets till 230 runs. Here Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha raised hopes of a comeback by making a century partnership but as soon as Rizwan was out, the innings faltered and the reason for this was Mehdi Hasan Miraz. Bangladesh's experienced spinners decimated the Pakistani batsmen and soon the entire team was bundled out for just 386 runs. In this way Bangladesh got a lead of 27 runs in the first innings.
Mehdi Hasan Miraj spoiled the condition of Pakistani batting. Mehdi made 5 batsmen his victims giving 102 runs in 38 overs. Those whom Miraj made its victims included batsmen like openers Imam ul Haq, Abdullah Fazal and Saud Shakeel. The special thing is that Miraj has done this feat in the second consecutive Test match against Pakistan. Earlier, in the Rawalpindi Test on Pakistan tour in 2024, Miraj had taken 5 wickets in an innings. Overall, for the 14th time in his 57 Test match career, this spinner did the feat of taking 5 wickets in an innings.
