This week's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire witnessed an impressive performance from Market Harborough, Leicestershire resident Andrew Fanko, who departed with a £500,000 prize while his wife Frankie observed from the audience.
Nevertheless, upon reaching the final question which would have secured him an eye-watering million-pound sum, Andrew informed host Jeremy Clarkson his journey on the ITV quiz show had come to an end.
Polling the audience offered little assistance, with the majority of studio participants divided between two possibilities. While he was inclined towards one response, he stated: "There's absolutely no chance I'm risking that amount of money."
"I will very, very gratefully take my half a million pounds," he declared with a sigh of relief. "And that is my final answer."
For anyone who didn't catch it, here's the question Andrew declined to tackle which could have transformed him into a millionaire, reports Leicestershire Live.
Which of these is an EGOT winner, meaning they have won each of the four major entertainment awards - an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony?
Lin-Manuel Miranda / Cher / Andrew Lloyd Webber / Bette Midler
The correct answer? Musical maestro Andrew Lloyd Webber, celebrated for his globally renowned West End and Broadway productions including The Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Cats.
Should you wish to challenge yourself, you can locate the remainder of Andrew's questions here.
Prior to Andrew's departure, Jeremy admitted he might have proved useful had the contestant not utilised the Ask the Host lifeline for a different question.
"The actual answer is a man I'm going on holiday with next month," the presenter revealed. "Andrew Lloyd Webber. We sit at his house every year and do the Oscars."
Lloyd Webber's remarkable trophy cabinet boasts a Primetime Emmy Award, three Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, and six Tony Awards. He claimed his Oscar in 1996 in the Best Original Song category for You Must Love Me, featured in the Madonna-fronted musical film Evita.
The celebrated composer has received Academy Award nominations on two further occasions - initially in 1973 for Best Score for Jesus Christ Superstar, and subsequently a Best Original Song nod for Learn to Be Lonely in the 2004 adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera.
Speaking exclusively to Reach, Andrew revealed he harbours no regrets about choosing not to risk a guess during the final round.
"Not at all, no," he said. "Our situation has been pretty tough for the last couple of years with work, so whatever I had I was going to hold unless I was really confident of it. And I just wasn't. So, I was fine."
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire airs Sundays at 7pm on ITV and can be streamed on ITVX.
