Paloma Faith has left BBC viewers raging as they tuned into the BAFTA TV Awards. The annual awards returned on Sunday (May 10) night, with Paloma and her Celebrity Traitors co-star Alan Carr hitting the red carpet before the ceremony kicked off. The 44-year-old sported a black fringed gown paired with an oversized bicorne hat, secured beneath her chin with a ribbon.
Upon taking her seat next to Alan, the singer chose not to remove her large headpiece, prompting criticism from viewers who complained that anyone seated behind her would have struggled to see the stage. Taking to X, one frustrated person wrote: "How f*****g inconsiderate and entitled do you have to be to wear that massive hat? I'd be p****d sitting behind her."
Another penned: "Thoughts and prayers for whomever is sat behind Paloma Faith tonight at the BAFTAs. They're not going to see anything on stage as she's wearing Admiral Nelson hat on her head."
A third shared: "What the f**k is Paloma Faith wearing on her head? Pity the poor beggar sat behind her."
A fourth echoed: "The person sat behind Paloma Faith must be raging."
Another added: "Thoughts and prayers for whomever is sat behind Paloma Faith tonight at the Baftas. They're not going to see anything on stage as she's wearing an Admiral Nelson hat on her head."
An additional viewer weighed in: "I'd be pretty p****d if I was sat behind Paloma Faith in that hat."
The Netflix drama Adolescence was the standout success at this year's awards, sweeping several major categories.
The limited series secured several major awards, including Best Limited Drama, while Stephen Graham was named Leading Actor and 16-year-old Owen Cooper won Supporting Actor for his breakthrough performance.
Christine Tremarco also walked away with the Supporting Actress award.
While accepting his award, Cooper said: "In the words of John Lennon, you won't get anything unless you have the vision to imagine it ... I think you only need three things to succeed in life: one, an obsession, two, a dream, and three, the Beatles. So thank you so much."
Other winners included Code of Silence, which was named Best Drama Series, while Amandaland picked up Best Scripted Comedy.
The Celebrity Traitors won Best Reality Programme as well as the Memorable Moment award, while Last One Laughing UK won Best Entertainment Programme, with Bob Mortimer also taking Best Entertainment Performance.
