DU UG Exam Date Sheet: Delhi University has released the revised final schedule for its undergraduate examinations. According to the new datesheet, some examinations will now be conducted on Sundays as well. The university implemented this change following persistent confusion and complaints from students regarding the examination schedule.
Focus on Concluding Exams Early for Senior Students
Delhi University's Controller of Examinations, Gurpreet Singh Tuteja, stated that the primary objective of the revised schedule is to conclude the examinations for sixth and eighth-semester students at an earlier date. He noted that many students are required to appear for other competitive examinations, interviews, and job opportunities; therefore, adjustments to the examination dates were deemed necessary.

Eighth-Semester Exams to be Held for the First Time
Following the introduction of the four-year undergraduate program under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, this marks the first instance where the university will conduct examinations for the eighth semester. Previously, academic studies at Delhi University extended only up to the sixth semester.

Exams to Commence on May 16
According to the university, the original examination schedule was slated to begin on May 16 and conclude on June 19. Under the revised schedule, however, the examinations for the sixth and eighth semesters will be conducted on alternate days—spanning a period of 14 days—starting from May 16. Consequently, some examinations will indeed take place on Sundays.

Subsequently, the examinations for the second and fourth semesters will be held over the following 14 days. The university has confirmed that all examinations for the even semesters will be completed by June 14.

Benefits for Students with Backlogs
According to university officials, the new schedule has also been designed with the specific needs of students in mind—particularly those carrying backlog papers in their sixth or eighth semesters. This arrangement will enable them to manage their remaining examinations more effectively.

Changes Applicable Only to NEP Students
The Controller of Examinations clarified that the modifications to the datesheet apply exclusively to students pursuing their studies under the NEP 2020 framework. No changes have been made to the date sheets for students appearing for examinations under the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) or the Learning Outcomes-based Curriculum Framework (LOCF).
