Strictly Come Dancing star Ore Oduba was rushed to the hospital after suffering an urgent eye emergency, leaving fans concerned. The 2016 champion took to social media to reveal that he had received specialist medical treatment and was left "seeing triple." Alongside a selfie of himself wearing dark shades outside the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, the 40-year-old penned: "Sunglasses for the foreseeable - doctor's orders."

The father of two added: "Thank you, MCR, again for coming to my aid. Six hours on site, multiple scans and all snacks devoured within 20 minutes. I leave seeing triple and with two months' worth of meds! But we're very gratefully on the mend." Although Ore didn't disclose why he needed medical treatment for his eyes, he added: "Holding hot, purple rubber glove over my blurring, dilated, weeping eyes was a new one."

This comes after the latest blow for Ore, after he candidly opened up about his sobriety journey after admitting that he dealt with addiction for "most of [his] life."

The TV host revealed that he battled with it "silently, secretly for decades", with his life potentially "ruined" had he not received a diagnosis or pursued therapy.

In a 2025 Instagram post, Ore shared that he "doesn't even recognise that version" of himself any longer, as he explained: "Until recently, I had spent most of my life as an addict. Shame was into woven into my addictive behaviours, they went hand-in-hand.

"Through therapy and finally admitting to myself that I'd suffered from addiction pretty much my entire life, I'm so happy to share I've been 'sober' for over a year. If that is indeed how to describe my case.

At the time, he continued: "Despite living with it silently, secretly for decades ... undiagnosed and untreated, it might well in the end have ruined my life. Funnily enough, I didn't recognise the timing until I started reading this unbelievable book by @annaliehowling 'UNAPOLOGETIC'.

"I devoured it in a day... And while her expertise is on shame, pretty much every word Annalise said resonated so deeply with me that I realised I'd actually forgotten I'd made so much progress in the last 12 months. I'm glad I don't even recognise that version of me anymore. (sic)"

Ore has also been vocal about dealing with his split from his wife, Portia. The former couple, who share two children, son Roman, seven, and daughter Genie, four, were married for nine years and ended their relationship in October 2024.
