Emmerdale legend's return 'sealed' after 10 years and it's bad news for Dr Todd

Fans of Emmerdale believe they've rumbled a legend's return after ten years, and it's bad news for Dr. Todd. ITV soap viewers will know that Dr Caitlin Todd (played by Caroline Harker) has been bullying her mentee, Jacob Sugden (Joe-Warren Plant), for months.

The plot came to a head last month when Jacob lodged a complaint with HR regarding Todd's behaviour. However, Charity Dingle soon managed to get him to drop it, after the evil doctor threatened to tell Jacob that his newborn daughter, Leyla, wasn't his biological child - she is, in fact, Charity's daughter with Ross Barton (Michael Parr).

Last week, Todd admitted to having "fun" while bullying the youngster, adding, "You're never gonna be a doctor. You're not smart enough, you're not strong enough, you're not determined enough... What you are is pathetic and weak. And by the way, you're not the first, and I doubt you'll be the last."

Todd has since announced her early retirement, but made it clear to Jacob that she wouldn't stop tormenting him in the village.

Now, several Emmerdale fans believe Kelvin Fletcher could return to the Dales as Jacob's father-in-law, Andy Sugden, which could prove troublesome for Dr Todd.

Andy notably fled the village back in 2016 to escape life in prison after being framed by Chrissie White (Louise Marwood) for the attempted murder of her father, Lawrence (John Bowe). Andy's brother, Robert (Ryan Hawley), helped him fake a passport ahead of his exit. Could Andy make a return to meet his granddaughter, Leyla, and help Jacob take down Dr Todd?

"Andy's exit is actually REALLY wild to me... It's just really strange that Andy would've preferred to live on the run than in prison, because at least he would've had Jack and Sarah in his life still, even if it was just through prison visits," one person wrote on Reddit.

Another added: "I assume if they bring Andy back, they'll come up with a suitably soapy reason for his absence. Andy being caught up as a victim of modern slavery, like Bear, would be a brilliant explanation, and they use the current storyline to bring him back."

A third said: "It would be lovely for him to meet Leyla, and sort Dr Todd out too," with another viewer similarly sharing: "Andy would defo help Jacob with Dr Todd."

Sadly, it could be a while before we see Andy return to the village, after actor Kelvin shared an update. Speaking on James Martin's Saturday Morning earlier this year, he said: "Emmerdale was 20 happy years but there's not a day goes by I'd ever really think about it really. It's a past chapter and I've very much moved on now."

Now, upcoming soap spoilers will see Dr Todd set her sights on Charity. The Woolpack co-owner will be surprised to discover that Todd has been dropping hints about her being Leyla's real mum in front of Jacob, and urges him to steer well clear of her.

Elsewhere, Todd and Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) go out for dinner, with the doctor revealing that she has received a letter confirming she has inherited her late father's property in Matlock. Vanessa worries that the distrance could threaten any budding romance, so suggests that they just remain friends. Will Dr Todd agree?
