Mansour/ Morning Edition/ 50 Cent, Nelly and The Chainsmokers will headline a new World Cup concert series from Sports Illustrated. The “SI Beyond the Pitch” events will take place across four major U.S. cities during the tournament. Additional performers include Diplo and Gordo.
Sports Illustrated is expanding its presence beyond sports journalism by launching a new concert series tied to this summer’s World Cup festivities across the United States.
The event series, titled “SI Beyond the Pitch,” will combine live music performances, celebrity appearances and premium fan experiences during one of the world’s biggest sporting events.
Organizers announced Monday that major music acts including 50 Cent, Nelly and The Chainsmokers will headline the four-city tour.
Additional performances are scheduled from Diplo and Gordo.
The series reflects growing efforts by sports and entertainment brands to create large-scale cultural experiences surrounding global sporting events.
The “SI Beyond the Pitch” tour will begin June 12 in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Palladium with Nelly serving as the opening headliner.
The second stop takes place June 20 in Dallas at SILO featuring Gordo.
On June 26, the series heads to Miami where The Chainsmokers will perform at DAER.
The tour concludes July 18 in New York City at Cipriani Wall Street with performances from 50 Cent and Diplo.
Each event is expected to include VIP experiences, nightlife programming and fan-focused entertainment tied to World Cup celebrations.
Organizers described the upcoming World Cup as a once-in-a-generation cultural and commercial opportunity for the United States.
The concert series is part of a broader trend where sports media companies increasingly blend entertainment, nightlife and celebrity culture with major athletic events.
Industry analysts say global tournaments like the World Cup attract enormous opportunities for sponsorshipsexperiential marketing and cross-industry collaborations involving sports, music and fashion.
The new concert initiative follows the success of Sports Illustrated’s Super Bowl weekend event series earlier this year.
The company’s “SI The Party” event featured performances from The Chainsmokers and Ludacris while attracting celebrity guests including Justin Bieber, Travis Kelce and Ciara.
Executives now hope to replicate that success during the global soccer tournament, which is expected to draw millions of international visitors and television viewers.
The expansion also signals Sports Illustrated’s growing ambitions in live entertainment and premium event production as media companies search for new revenue opportunities beyond traditional publishing.
