Princess Eugenie's third child may not have the same family experience as her two elder children, a royal expert has suggested. The 36-year-old announced the news of her third pregnancy earlier this month, with the royal already a mother to five-year-old August and two-year-old Ernest.

Buckingham Palace released a statement on behalf of Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank, which read: "Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer. August (aged five) and Ernest (aged two) are also very excited to have another sibling join the family."

The statement also shared that King Charles was "delighted" by his niece's family news.

HELLO!'s royal editor Emily Nash spoke of the family dynamics surrounding Eugenie's third child, who will arrive this summer.

She wrote: "This baby will be born into very different family dynamics to those experienced by his or her older siblings.

"Although their grandmother Sarah and grandfather Andrew have spent plenty of time with August and Ernest, they are likely to keep more of a distance this time around, although I'm sure that Sarah will find it very hard to stay away from a new grandchild."

She added of the King's reaction to the news and what could be next for Eugenie: "The King's warm words show that he still has a great deal of affection for Eugenie and that he has not ostracised his nieces.

"We might well start seeing them at family gatherings again."

Eugenie's announcement came after a particularly challenging period for both herself and her sister, Princess Beatrice. Following Andrew and Sarah being named in the US Department of Justice's Epstein files, the siblings were reportedly left "aghast" and "deeply embarrassed".

Andrew has denied any wrongdoing, and his inclusion in the Epstein files does not indicate any wrongdoing.
