Guwahati. Newly appointed US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore reached Guwahati on Tuesday to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. After attending the function, the Ambassador posted his picture shaking hands with the Chief Minister on social media and congratulated him and emphasized on the growing bilateral relations between Assam-US.
“I am honored to be invited to Guwahati today to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma,” the ambassador said in his tweet. He further said, “The US-Assam have strong commercial relations and under the leadership of the Chief Minister, we will identify many more opportunities for cooperation beneficial to both sides in the future.
