Latest weather maps show seven UK areas are predicted to see snow on Wednesday, May 13. Summer is supposed to be on the way, but temperatures have dropped this week, with some areas seeing colder weather. Some patches of snow are shown on UK maps, with white indicating around seven areas set to experience snowfall this May.

Maps from WXCHARTS show that by 3pm tomorrow, Peterborough, Corby, Leicester, Northampton and the Yorkshire Dales National Park could see some snow in England. In Scotland, Hawick, East Kilbride, Glasgow, Fort William, Glencoe, Cairngorms National Park and Huntly could see snow. In Wales, no snow is forecast, but there will be rain.

As for Northern Ireland, no snow is seen on the maps either - but again, rain will be present across vast swathes of the area.

Heading into Thursday, May 14, at 3pm, fewer areas will see snow. Maps show a tiny patch of snow will be seen in Mid-Wales, around Hay-on-Wye.

In England, only the Peak District National Park and Hull will see snow.

As for Scotland, there will only be snow in the Cairngorms National Park, according to the maps.

By Friday, May 15, maps show that temperatures will reach lows of -0 °C in Scotland, with the Cairngorms National Park showing icy blue.

The Met Office five-day forecast says the weather will feel cooler, with blustery showers spreading south today.

For this evening and tonight, it adds: "Cloud and some patchy rain clearing from southeast England, then chilly with clear periods in the south this evening.

"However, blustery showers in the northwest becoming increasingly widespread overnight, some heavy and possibly thundery. Limited frost as winds strengthen."

For Wednesday, it says there will be a mix of sunshine and showers across the UK.

It says there will be some of the showers heavy with hail and thunder, even some wintriness over the Scottish mountains with brisk and chilly northwesterly winds.

For Thursday to Saturday, it says: "Sunshine and showers again on Thursday, with more persistent rain in the far west.

"Becoming mostly fine from the west on Friday. Further rain arriving from the west on Saturday."
