A major change has been seen in the Meghalaya Police Department. The state government has transferred 14 IPS officers together. Superintendents of Police of many districts including CID SP have been changed. Apart from this, changes have also been made in the charge of Assistant Police Inspector, Deputy Inspector General of Police and new posts. The order to transfer and appointment has been issued by the Home (Police) Department in the name of the Governor on May 12.

IPS officer Jerry Fisher. Marak, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Western Range (WR) Tura has been transferred and posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Eastern Range (ER), Shillong. Vivekananda Singh, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Eastern Range (IR), has been transferred and posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Western Range (WR). Siddharth Kumar Ambedkar, Commandant, 5th MLP Battalion, Samanda has been posted as Commandant, 6th MLP Battalion, Umran.

SP of these districts changed

Shailendra Bamania, Superintendent of Police, South Garo Hills District Baghmara, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, CID Shillong. Superintendent of Police, North Garo Hills District Resubelpara has been transferred and posted to East Garo Hills, District Vili Nagar. Ishan Gupta has been given the responsibility of the post of Superintendent of Police North Garo Hills, District Resubelpara. Ringrang TG Momin has been given the responsibility of the post of SP South Garo Hills, District Baghmara. Graphy Venhok Lyngdoh has been appointed as SP East West Khasi Hills District Mairang. Dangson Khairim has been appointed to the post of SP City Shillong.

Devansh Pandey, Superintendent of Police, City Shillong, has been posted as Assistant Inspector General of Police (L&O). IPS officer Ashish Commandant 6th MLP Battalion Umran has been appointed as Superintendent of Police VIS, Shillong. Stephen A. Rinjah Superintendent of Police, East Garo Hills, Williamnagar has been posted as Commandant, 5th MLP Battalion, Samanda. Hari Prashant MR has been posted as Superintendent of Police Traffic East Khasi Hills Shillong.
