An employee from Mumbai is receiving widespread support online after speaking out against toxic workplace behaviour and choosing to resign from her job.

Dhrupadi shared her experience through an Instagram video, revealing that she quit her job when she asked for compensation for overtime work.

In her Instagram post, she wrote, “After working for 2 years and 7 months in a company and maintaining a strong reputation in my role, I asked for compensation for extra hours being put into work beyond my official schedule.”

She further added, “The response I received was being shouted at publicly in front of hundreds of people. I raised concerns professionally and sought accountability and a formal apology. When that didn’t happen, I chose to resign. And honestly? I’m glad I did.”

Dhrupadi also shared a video clip in which a person, believed to be her former boss, could allegedly be heard saying, “Everybody has to align to my rules and regulations. If you do not like it, please leave tomorrow. It’s completely okay.”

Another wrote, “No one should tolerate toxic work culture.”
